NORTHern REPRESENTATIVE

PHILLIP ATKINS

I was born in Launceston Tasmania where I have lived all of my life. I married young and am still married to a wonderful wife who shares with me two great children (son and daughter) and two fantastic granddaughters.

I am a butcher by trade and at the age of twenty-four I purchased the first of our butcher shops. After selling our last butchery, I was involved it two Hotels as manager and spent several years as a consultant with the Federal Group where I developed the first Bussing Program into any Casino in Australia. After several years as a consultant, I become an employee of the Federal Group. Some of my roles were in marketing, Sales, Promotions and Premium Player Management.

During my life so far, I have been on the Australian Meat Council, Chairman of MBL Meat Traders, Chairman of the Northern Crime Stoppers and Coached the Tasmanian Amateur Football Team to a Carnival in Western Australia - just to name a few. I am currently on the Executive Committee of the Kings Meadow’s Community Men’s Shed.

My main reason for wanting to become a member of TMSA is to try and continue the great work that has already been set up before I am too old and to help open the door for more Men who are in need of a place to share good company, laugTher, and friendship because I believe that Mens Health Matters.
