Following a 42 year stint in finance much of which was as boring as it sounds, Bruce reached out greedily for retirement with both hands. Moving to Tasmania from Victoria with over a full container of household and workshop equipment, he set up the dream workshop only to find the Men's Shed movement offered everything he wanted plus the companionship of like minded men willing to share their life skills with someone who was more familiar with an office desk than a workbench.
The reason for both the membership of committees of both Channel Men's Shed and the TMSA flowed naturally from this discovery and, oddly enough, is providing an opportunity to use those professional skills acquired over the forty-two years. To, he hopes, the wider benefit of the movement which has meant so much to the enjoyment of the third stage of life for all of us.
